For fifty years the Starlite Lounge catered to every race, creed, and orientation. When this pre-Stonewall safe haven is ordered to vacate, the community mobilizes to protect their culture and preserve their history. The confluence of race, religion, capitalism and sexuality creates the perfect storm to bring down the house.

Gesticht in 1962 door een Afro-Amerikaan voor zijn homogemeenschap, werd de "Starlite" een legendarische oase van rust. Toen het overleven van deze instelling, die in Brooklyn gevestigd was, bedreigd werd, betoogde een hartstochtelijke gemeenschap. Door de studie van hun beweging, onderzoekt deze documentaire de modelvorm van de homo-zichtbaarheid, maar ook de raciale en economische kwesties die de meeste van de Amerikaanse progressieve metropolen kenmerken.
