Angie Mills has been working in different capacities in the film and television industry in South Africa. Her work as producer, director, script developer, is concerned with gender and postcolonial issues. Her interest lies in promoting innovative and experimental film and television works that interrogate and challenge the dominant trends in the South African film industry. In her capacity as independent filmmaker she is currently in post-production on a feature length documentary Sathima Bea Benjamin : A Home Within about the South African exile, jazz singer Sathima Bea Benjamin.
