My personal spirit of rebellion developed both through my family history (being the daughter of communists is not nothing) and also because of my deep-seated desire for freedom. I have always considered that my films are focused on this single subject: freedom. During the shooting of Laïcité Inch'Allah, I had no other choice than affronting Islamic fundamentalists: it was war! At the same time I discovered the corridors of Tenon Hospital in Paris. I had to face cancer, a second enemy. Why make a film to recount'the consequences of a film'? This allowed me to continue the struggle and so say once more that'those who live are those who fight' (Victor Hugo).
