Ignored by textbooks and excluded from the big commemoration "shows", they try nowadays to make this overshadowed page of History exist and to testify with force and indignation of the way the French government ignores them.
Contrary to their French brothers-in-arms, they perceive to live on the French territory an "in shagreen" military pension of at best 50 to 60 € a month.
Forced to live far from their family, often in pitiful sanitary conditions, many of them are reduced to beggary and roam in the streets of the Republic...
In spite of the contempt and the striking injustices, these men who made History offer us a beautiful lesson of humanity …
