On October 17, 1961, tens of thousands of French citizens demonstrated calmly in the streets of Paris. 24 hours later, there are dozens of deaths - no one will ever know the exact figure.
These victims are Algerians who officially are French citzens.
How could such events occur in the capital of a Western democracy, and why have they been passed over in silence for almost forty years?

A film about the events of October 17, 1961 in Paris during the Algerian War. Interweaving interviews with those who were there, archival footage and photos, this inquiry documents how some 200 Algerians were killed by French police in the course of that one night.
